講義名 Biofunctional Material Design
目的

The biological system has a variety of efficient and latent functions to adapt itself to the given environment.

In this lecture, review will be given on the design and develop of the stimuli-responsive and environment-friendly biomaterials which mimics the biological systems with self-organized structure.

内容 Overview of Biofunctional Materials Design
Phase I
Analytical Method to Characterize the Biofunctional Materials (Aqueous Two-Phase Partitioning Method, Immobilized Liposome Chromatography etc.)
Phase II
Creation of Biofunctional Elements and Their Control (Overview of Natural Biomaterials, Liposome, Artificial Chaperone and Enzyme)
Phase III
Key to Assemble the Elements for the Induction of Bio-Mimetic Functions

This lecture divided to three phases (I, II, and III). Each phase includes the lecture, discussion, and presentation. The research proposal on the biofunctional material design should be given through the discussion in the small group of attended students and should be presented at the final class in each phase.

The methodology on the discussion and communication skill is cross-linked to "chemical engineering PBL" for the 2nd year undergraduate students of chemical engineering in the faculty of engineering science.
